Anssol
How We Work

From Discovery Call To First Deploy

A transparent walkthrough of how an engagement with Anssol actually runs — what we expect from your team, and what you can expect from ours.

01

Discovery call

30 minutes

We listen. You tell us what you're trying to build, what's already in place, and what hasn't worked yet. We ask questions and tell you honestly whether we're a good fit.

  • No sales pitch — a direct technical conversation
  • We'll sign an NDA before the call if your work requires it
  • Outcome: either we send a scoped proposal, or we refer you to someone better suited
02

Scoping & proposal

3–5 business days

We turn the conversation into a written proposal: scope, deliverables, milestones, team composition, timeline, and price. Estimates come with the assumptions they rest on — not marketing-speak.

  • Fixed-price for tightly-scoped work; T&M with monthly cap for ongoing work
  • Clear list of what's in scope and what's deliberately out
  • Explicit handover and acceptance criteria
03

Contract & kick-off

1 week

We sign a master services agreement plus a statement of work. You provision repo and infrastructure access for our team. We hold a one-hour kick-off meeting to align on tooling, communication and the first sprint's goals.

  • Work-for-hire IP terms — you own everything we produce
  • Our team works in your repo, your cloud, your tools
  • Slack / Teams channel set up, project board agreed
04

Sprint zero

Week 1

Before we ship features, we set up the foundations: CI, environments, the deployment story, observability hooks, and the architecture decisions we want to lock in. This is the work that pays back tenfold across the project.

  • CI/CD pipeline running
  • Local + staging environments provisioned and documented
  • Coding standards, branching strategy and review cadence agreed
05

Delivery

Ongoing

Two-week sprints. Daily async standups in Slack. Weekly demo + planning call. Pull requests reviewed within 24 hours. You always know where things stand, and if something is off-track we tell you the moment we know — not at the next demo.

  • Working software demoed every two weeks
  • Velocity, blockers and risks tracked openly
  • Scope changes go through written change requests so nothing surprises anyone
06

Hand-over & support

Final 1–2 weeks

We document what we built, run training sessions for your team, and stay on retainer for a defined period to fix anything that comes up. After that, your team owns it — but we're always reachable if a question comes up later.

  • Runbooks, architecture diagrams and decision records
  • Knowledge-transfer sessions recorded and shared
  • 30–60 day post-launch retainer available

Operating principles

How we make decisions

Async-first, sync when it matters

Most days, our communication is asynchronous — written updates in Slack, recorded videos in Loom, decisions logged in the project tracker. Synchronous calls happen when they actually move the work forward (kick-off, weekly demo, design reviews), not on a fixed timetable.

Small teams, senior people

We don't add headcount to bill more hours. Most engagements are staffed with 1–3 senior engineers who can each cover the full stack the project needs. Smaller teams ship faster, have fewer coordination costs, and produce more coherent software.

Honest estimates, with assumptions

Every estimate comes with the assumptions it rests on. If those assumptions turn out to be wrong, we re-estimate together — we don't quietly burn through hours and tell you at the end. The estimate is a tool for decision-making, not a contract for fiction.

You own the code

All work product is yours from day one — code, data, models, IP. We don't keep copies, we don't license anything back to you, and we don't include hidden 'platform fees' in delivered software.
