Because honest pricing depends on the work. A 2-week MVP and a 6-month platform rebuild are different engagements with different teams, durations and risks. Publishing fixed prices either over-promises (and we'd back out) or over-charges (so we don't lose on edge cases). Instead, we quote per engagement after a 30-minute call.
For context — fixed-price MVPs typically run from low-five-figures (small, well-scoped features) to mid-five-figures (full product launches). Monthly T&M caps vary by team size; a single senior engineer at full-time intensity sits in the low-five-figures-per-month range. We'll give you a concrete number after a discovery call.
Third-party costs you incur directly: cloud bills (AWS, GCP, Azure), SaaS subscriptions (Vercel, Resend, OpenAI API), domain names, app store fees. We bill for our work; you pay your own vendors directly so there's no markup and you keep the relationships.
No. The discovery call is free; everything past that point is paid. Free POCs are bad for both sides — they push us toward shortcuts and leave you with throwaway code. Instead, we offer a short, paid scoping engagement (typically 1–2 weeks) for projects where the requirements need to be discovered before they can be priced.
